In this post, I make available a new open address dataset released by Lewisham Council.
Background
As described in previous posts, I have recently been requesting Council Tax address datasets from a number of local authorities in England, and asking for permission to re-use the data under the terms of the Open Government Licence.
I have created a landing page on my Datadaptive site with download links and other information about the Council Tax address datasets released as open data so far:
Release from Lewisham Council
The latest council to release its Council Tax address list is Lewisham Council in London.
In its initial response, the Council withheld all of the requested information on the basis that it was personal data. But following an internal review the Council disclosed all of the requested information under the FOI Act and, after some back and forth in emails, confirmed permission for re-use under the terms of the current version of the Open Government Licence (OGL).

Geocoded open version of Lewisham Council address dataset
I have created a geocoded version of the Lewisham Council address dataset, which you can also download: LEWISHAM_CTBANDS_ONSUD_202512.zip (20.0 MB).
This dataset contains information collated from the underlying Council dataset, other than the postcodes. Geographic coordinates and postcodes have been appended from the latest edition of the ONS UPRN Directory (December 2025).
I have prepared the data in CSV and GeoJSON formats, suitable for re-use under the terms of the Open Government Licence (OGL). Please see the enclosed ReadMe file for information on attribution and additional technical details.
