One of the lesser known features of the Government's support for academy schools in England is the Risk Protection Arrangement (RPA), a scheme backed by the Department for Education that provides academies (and free schools) with an alternative to commercial insurance.
DfE doesn't publish a list of the schools that are covered by the RPA. However I've been tracking the growth of the scheme through occasional FOI requests. The number of member schools has grown as follows:

About 62% of academy schools in England have now opted in to the RPA. The map below shows the percentage of academy schools in each local government area.
